Recording has speeded up at the Stereo Society to the point of overwhelming us, even as we work out the release channels for the five CDs that we have already prepared. There are two fresh projects hurtling through that we should tell you about. The BETTY ‘holiday
album’ was first thought out last year. Not atypically,
we started to plan too late, scheduling being seriously complicated
by their off-Broadway production BETTY
Rules which closed March 30 that year after, appropriately,
212 performances (212 is the telephone area code for Manhattan).
Apart from a small collection of photos from the Snowbiz sessions, there’s not too much added to the site this month. Expect more in the near future. The Shirts are also very busy with their revival CD. Half the recording is complete, the remainder expected to be finished by the end of this month. Mixing will start at the Stereo Society once BETTY have left the building. We are scampering fast to get Snowbiz finished and offered for sale on the internet (only, although the group will also sell it at their several holiday-season performances). The other CDs, whose availability we have probably promised for too long, will be given release dates by the end of November. We’re proud of them all, and want to make sure they stick, with your help of course. Here are links to the villians perpetrating these musical crimes: To Lene Lovich’s home at the Stereo Society To Johnny Reinhard’s home at the Stereo Society To the Charles Ives page at the Stereo Society To Thorne’s home at the Stereo Society And thanks, yet again all, for your attention and site visits. As we head into September and everybody (in the northern hemisphere, ‘scuse us) returns to the daily grind, we have entertained on site an average of 1452 of you per day while the sunshine must have been at least as attractive. We appreciate that. As Edna O’Brien put it, August Is A Wicked Month. Not as bad as it might have been….. If you want to give us further attention, please send us comments and/or abuse, as ever.
