Flash Rosenberg is a Guggenheim Fellow in the Creative Arts and an “Attention-Span-for-Hire” who draws, photographs, writes and performs. She was the pioneering artist in residence for LIVE from the NY Public Library where she live-drew discussions to create animated “Conversation Portraits” of complex ideas, not faces. Flash live-draws music, lectures, ceremonies, brainstorms, conversations, arguments, and miracles, all in real-time — to accelerate understanding. In her own words: "The action of the pen making an idea visible is more exciting to me than the final illustration."
Here is the whole series of drawings Flash scribbled while in the audience at a BETTY show at Joe's Pub in New York on April 18, 2015. She nails the essence of BETTY's songs: often raunchy and provocative, always thought-provoking and captivating.
